Ecuador, Galapagos: Millennium Partners through its partnership with IP3 undertook a preliminary assessment to evaluate the potential applications of Public Private Partnerships in the Galapagos as a tool to promote infrastructure development, improve service delivery, and increase economic efficiency to foster sustainable development. The team undertook prefeasibility studies of water, wastewater, solid waste and port projects on the islands and delivered recommendations to the local governments on how to develop these PPP projects.
Millennium Partners also undertook a national level legal and regulatory reform analysis of the potential climate for PPPs in Ecuador. This entailed an assessment, a workshop for government officials, and recommendations to strengthen the legal and regulatory environment for PPPs.
