On August 11th, the DRL-funded Access to Justice (ATJ) project in Moldova signed a Collaboration Agreement with the Moldova Ministry of Justice’s Agency for Court Administration (ACA).

“The signing of the Collaboration Agreement formalizes a productive ongoing collaboration between ATJ and ACA. The Project supports the Agency’s efforts to digitize court services, which will increase access to justice,” said ATJ’s Chief of Party Olivia Pîrțac-Goagă. “As part of the Collaboration Agreement, we will provide the Agency with concrete recommendations for enhancing the functionalities of the E-File system, so that Moldovan people can file court complaints online and have access to their electronic case file remotely.”

The AJT is conducting an in-depth study of the current E-File system functionalities and will identify the needed improvements to bolster the system’s naton-wide implementation and make it accessible and user-friendly not only for legal professionals, but also for all Moldovan people. Digitization of court services plays a key role in combating corruption and enhancing transparency and accessibility of court services.
